  1. Nah, I don't think it's a consumer.

Though it does consume something. *g*

Could it be a producer because they're known for reproducing?!

I had wanted to say omnivore but my understanding is an omnivore will eat both meat and vegetables.  I know a rabbit will bite but I don't think that makes it qualify as a meat eater.

    Sorry, I couldn't stop myself.

  2. Yep, you're right.

In ecology, the trophic level is the position that an organism occupies in a food chain - what it eats, and what eats it. If "herbivore" would have been a choice, it would be more specific (more correct) than consumer, because herbivore describes what a rabbit eats.

    You probably already know that:

--A decomposer is an organism (like fungi) that breaks down decaying organic matter.

--A carnivore is an organism that subsists on a diet of meat.

--An omnivore is an organism that eats both plant and animal matter.

--A consumer is an organism which has to acquire its food. It cannot produce food.

--A producer is an organism that makes its own food through a process like photosynthesis.

  3. Yep, it'd D.
