...if I still wish to adopt a child as my own and I was single, would I still be aloud to adopt a child as long as I can provide the child with all the love, care and protection that he/she requires? Or, do you have to have a partner.

Are you allowed to be a single adopted-parent?

  1. you're allowed - it's not just for celebrities, but it does cost a lot of money, and they may do some other screening, such as psychological testing, parenting questionairres, etc....

  2. You are definately allowed to adopt being a single parent. It just may be a little more difficult. I had the same question, and I'm giving you the answer I got...you are able to adopt if you are single- you just have to have the right resources at hand.

  3. Agencies tell single mothers-to-be that if they love their baby they will give it up to a stable two parent family

Ironically single adopters aren't a problem, probably because of the cash they bring to the agency

I can't stand hypocrisy but there you have it.  Yes it's apparently ok to be a single adoptive parent but not a single natural parent.  Good luck

  4. You are definitely allowed, as long as you can provide for the child financially, emotionally, etc.. And the laws on this are improving all the time.

  5. Yes, you can adopt if you're still single a that time. But, as the other answerers here mentioned, it would cost quite a lot.
