We start with $50 in the center and replace it if it is won. The money from fines go in the center as well and it can be quite a big lottery before someone lands on it. It is so fun.

  1. s***w the rules, we do that too!  It makes it more fun.  We also play if you land directly on GO then you double the amount ($400 instead of $200).  I guess we're just a little greedy!  :-)

  2. We use it as a lottery as well. We do not put any starter money in there.

  3. I think that is universal.

  4. We put $500 there.  Also we play if you land on "Go" you get $400.

  5. don't know? Never touch the stuff..........monopoly that is

  6. we put the money that we lose from income tax, comunity chest ,chance, and super tax on so it's always got a bit of cash.

  7. Its the best part of the game. lol

  8. never thought of that idea....

  9. I'm sorry. Giving a player money for a lucky die roll makes a so-so game tedious. You might try downloading the Stockmarket (sic) rules at www.hasbro.com. It makes the game a little more interesting because the players have to buy stock to take advantage of a lucky dice roll and that is keeping in the spirit of the game.

  10. That is the FUNNNNNNNNNN part! Oh Ya!

  11. Play it that way if you like, but it makes the game last a LOT longer. If that money stays in circulation, nobody goes bankrupt as soon as if it goes to the bank.

  12. I never put any thing extra there. I try and play by the exact rules for the game. That being said it's your game and you should play the way that makes you the happiest.

  13. I know that isn't in the rules, but we usually do that too.  We never have used starter money though.  That is a good idea, because I always land on it when there is no money. :(

  14. Oh, I hate how people use that as a rule.  Unless it's Vegas monopoly.

If you make it to where there are hotels everywhere you are glad just to land on a free spot period.

Sorry, I just like playing monopoly the normal way. The money on free parking seems to reduce it down to chance even more.
