  1. I thought that all games started with a break or an attempt to pocket a ball. The cueball goes at the opposite part of the table from where the balls were racked. There is an imaginary line between the two dots on the table. The ball must be placed behind this line.


  2. Behind the line.  Aim for the balls directly, not off a cushion, hit the cue ball with that long wooden stick, preferably using the smaller end to propel the cue ball forward.  Don't forget to use chalk, deodorant, and look both ways before crossing the road, young chap!

  3. Would like to help you out here, but I've never heard of 10 ball.   I've played 8 ball and 9 ball plus many other billard games, just never 10 ball.  Sorry!
