Aesthetics...and it makes it look like the watch face is "smiling". ie the two hands look like an upturned mouth :) to appeal to people.

Because 11:11 just didn't look right, whereas 10:10 fit the bill exactly.

Because it looks good--symmetrical, plus there is one hand on each side of the brand name--shows it off, too.
