In the market for a new snowboard, any help?

I've been looking for a new board for the last few weeks now and have been having a little trouble. I'm 5'11 and 94kg (202-3lbs) and its been difficult to find a board to suit within my preferred brands Lib Tech, Rome and Burton. Lib tech would be my preferred choice but at this stage I'm not to fussed.

As I mentioned...I'm 5'11, 94kg also size 10us boot. I'm after an all mountain board that does fast turns but also has ability for park, pipe and other natural obstacles, I'm not interested in jibbing (street). Powder isn't always in great supply where I'm from so its not what I'm after.

Part of the reason it has been hard to find a board is because I'm trying to find a board 159 or shorter, with my weight I know its a tough ask.

So if any of you board guru's out there could throw me some options and ideas that would be great.

  1. you need to check out the bourd websites and get a costom

  2. burton

  3. Burton for sure

  4. buy it online

  5. A 159 is a littlte short for you if you go by the internet charts but they are only there for a guide. I myself prefere a shortish board as its easier to control, spin ,butter etc. If i had a longer board it would be more stable at high speeds but i generally dont do that type of riding and a short board suits me better. There are actually loads of boards that will suit your style of riding, but ive listed ones made by your prefered brands.

    Lib Tech Skate Banana Beg/Int

Lib Tech Jaime Lynn Pheonix Series Int

    Lib Tech TRS Int

    Lib Tech Dark Series Int/Adv

    Rome Anthem Int/Adv

    Rome Solution Beg/Int

    Rome Crail Beg/Int

    Burton Air Beg/Int

    Burton Custom Int/Adv

    Burton Custom X Adv

    Burton EliteBurton T6 Adv

I dont know your level of riding ie begineer, intermediate or advanced so ive made a note after each board ive listed to what level of rider its best suited for. Also all the boards ive listed can be used for all types of riding freestyle, freeriding and powder. Some are more freestyle orientated some more freeride orientated but all are All mountain boards. Hope this helps good luck with the riding.

Maybe you just need to have one made custom for you.

  7. You might want to consider looking for slightly larger snowboard. If your in the range of 200 lbs a 159 might be a little to small. I'd say try I would go along the line of a 161-164.

Although, having a shorter board is better for the freestyle park. Also, if you've been snowboarding for a while and you are experienced it would be a great idea to get a longer board. You'd be able to control it better. then of course if you get a long board it great for powder. though you did say powder is a little short where your from. Either way it all depends on what you feel most comftorble with. Good luck with choosing.
