i really need chocolate! The only thing in the house I have remotely close to chocolate is Cocoa Powder and 2 small blocks of semi-sweet chocolate (which tastes awful plain). What can I make using one of those ingrediants? (I also have the basics like sugar, flour...etc..)

Hot Chocolate: Here's a recipe of my mom's.  It's really good.  Just mix 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder with two tablespoons of sugar and a quarter teaspoon of vanilla extract.  Meanwhile, heat one cup of milk in the microwave for 1:30-2:00 minutes (in a separate cup).  When it comes out, pour it into your cup containing the dry ingredients and vanilla.  The result is delicious!

Check out my question.  It got a ton of great chocolaty answers.

Note: Add extra cocoa to the chocolate cake and extra sugar to the hot chocolate for best taste.

  9. The semisweet chocolate can make anything. Cake , choc. cookies, fudge, brownies. Open a recipe book or go online to allrecipes.com and find a way to prepare it. Cocoa powder is used interchangeably with any kind of chocolate.

  10. Semi-sweet shouldn't taste awful;  that's what most chocolate chips are made from.  But this recipe calls for unsweetened chocolate, which might be what you have....

    SUPER FUDGE PIE

    1/4 c. butter

    2 sq. unsweetened chocolate

    2 eggs

    1/4 c. all purpose flour

    pinch of salt

ice cream or whipped cream to put on top

Melt butter & chocolate together over warm water.  Beat eggs in a bowl and gradually add sugar.  Add flour & salt; then combine with the chocolate mixture.  Pour into an ungreased 8" pie pan and bake at 350 for 20-25 min.  Cool and freeze.  This does not have to be thawed to eat it:)  Top with ice cream or whipped cream

I gave this recipe to someone last week, and she thanked me and said it was WONDERFUL

  11. Make a simple brownie recipe with the cocoa powder, there should be a recipe for brownies on the box, and make icing by melting the semi-sweet with butter and powdered sugar.

  12. when i am in the mood for something VERY chocolaty, i make hot dark chocolate. i use 2 to 3 teaspoons of the powder and a regular coffeecup of milk. then, after heating the milk and adding the cocoa, i add a few drops of vanilla and a bit of cinnamon (according to ur pleasure) and a bit of pumpkin spice (optional).

on the other hand, sometimes i make a smoothie type cocoa drink. same ingredients, same procedure, except i don't heat the milk!

P.S. it doesn't matter if ur cocoa is dark or milk chocolate :D
