  1. It was some aero dynamic formula. The movie doesn't work like real life though :)

  2. She tried to to explain the conservation of angular momentum at one point in the movie, except she had it completely wrong.

Her physics is so poor, the producers of the movie must have been running on a really low budget for not being able to hire a physics student to make sure the actress wouldn't look so stupid for everyone to see.

  3. One of her "theories" was that if you tucked your arms you'd speed up in your spins due to centrifugal force. However in a sense, it's both silly to present something every skater does already maybe without even knowing it when they do jumps (easier to control I guess) and another is that spins can actually go faster if your arms aren't tucked in from my own personal experience.

With the exception of never to compete with new boots, everything about that movie is a slap in the face to the logic of figure skating. What kind of idiot turns down the chance to study in Harvard with a free scholarship to pursue an expensive skating career when she wasn't even supposed to be a senior (and started skating quite late)... well, let's just say I didn't like that movie that much.

  4. I don't think she really had a hypothesis about it, she was just demonstrating that a good working knowledge and application of phyiscs could improve a skater.

  5. Airo dynamic formula? watch it!
