In the movie Legends of the Fall.. Why did Suzannah cut off her bangs before commiting suicide?

there really is no one answer to this, but my perception of this action was that she was so frustrated with her life's choices. She was in love with Tristan. She promised him that she'd wait but ended up marrying Alfred instead.  Then when she saw Tristan with Isabelle 2 at the festival she became depressed and irrational at the thought that she could have been happy with Tristan if she had waited like she said she would.  She also was drinking too so really who can explain what they do when they're drunk?

I think she was so frustrated with the whole Tristan situation, and also being unable to conceive a baby.  Maybe it was her feeling worthless and unfeminine too.  Or maybe she just went nuts, like Brittney Spears shaving her head.
