In the musical Bye bye Birdie, how many scenes is mae peterson in?

I am planning on playing Mae Peterson in my school play of Bye Bye Birdie. I have never seen the movie or a play so i am curious to know how major is this role. Are there many scenes that she is in? I am just curious, it doesn't make a difference if i accept the role or not but i dont really know much about her except that she is crazy. Some info on her would be nice.

mae is a minor role, but if played "right," can really steal the show! she's in maybe 2 or 3 scenes, 4 at most. she has some dramatic- but hilarious- monologues. i don't remember if she has a song.. but i just remember her being incredibly outrageous. i really hope you stick with this role- if you do it right, you could get major exit applause! and be the most annoying, but loved, character on stage! good luck!

mae is such a fun role. She has a lot of onstage time but not nessecarely alot of lines. It's a nice size role! congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

Our school did this for this years school play and it was actualy played by a boy and it was so much more fun to see a boy play this part then the regular girl part. i beleve that he was in 4 scenes but it was well worth it! And she does have a song titled "a mother doesnt matter anymore"
