Question:

In the new Army Combat Uniform does the fly use a zipper or buttons?

The oldies closed with buttons and I've read that zippers and velcro have replaced buttons for comfort and ease of use but there's no direct reference to the fly on the trousers.

Please only answer if you know for sure. I can guess as well as the next person.

  1. The fly and back pockets use buttons. The front of the ACU jacket uses a zipper behind the velcro. the rest of the pockets on the ACU are velcro.

  2. It has buttons for the fly just like the BDU's did.  The only zipper on the ACU's are on the top which has a zipper that can run up or down and velcro to help close it as well.  Everywhere else on the uniform is velcro except on the back pockets for the bottoms which have two buttons each.
