In the new yahoo page, how do I know a stock symbol has new news?

In the old my Yahoo page, there would be an "*" right next to the stock symbol in your profolio to indicate there is "NEW" news. In the new my Yahoo page, How do I know there are new news just from glancing at it?

You don't.  I have complained about this for almost a year during beta testing of the new my.yahho.
