At the moment, English is the language of science - most major universities and labs in Europe speak English as the main language.  But that's the influence of the US, and if we keep taking funding away from research and undermining science education at the elementary level, we won't be on top for long - and then everyone has to learn Mandarin.

Yes.  Be grateful you do not have to learn a new language such as Spanish or Chinese.

Chinese... just statistically.. there are more Chinese speakers in the world than anything else.   Even Spanish.  And lets face it.  China is doing much better economically than it has in the past..

but don't worry.. Chinese is easy...
