As some of you may know, today, August 29, 2008, is the anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. Whether or not you were a victim of this storm, no doubt your life has changed at least a little bit.

For me, I:

Joined a theatre group

Took the ACT for the first time

Went to school in trailers

Have made a best friend

Moved my grandparents into a new house

Witnessed the divorce of my cousin's parents

Started high school

Joined choir

Went to my first high school dance

Sent my brother off to college

Lost an aunt

How has your life changed, for the better or worse?

  1. In the past three years, my station in life has not drastically changed that much.   I have returned to school part-time as of last  year.  Yet, I still live in the same apartment and work for the same employer, making just slightly more than when I first started (cost-of-living increases).  I plan on changing that eventually, though it would be more gradual due in part to factors that are mostly beyond my control.

Still, people's lives will change as they age, for better or worse, regardless of the present circumstances.  Socioeconomic, cultural & political trends can easily change at a whim.  Those changes will no doubt have an impact on every individual, either directly on their situations or indirectly via influence of their opinions.

  2. i worked that hurricane and will be working all those to come i have to say that in the past 3 years  mine has changed for the better when you have seen all  the devastation i have  over the years you tend to look at life a little differently and not sweat the small stuff you dont take  it for granted any more

  3. Lets see, in the past 3 years I.....

    got baptized,

    got married,

    bought a house,

    bought a brand new car,

    made new friends.

  4. My life has definitely changed...but I'm not really sure if I can say for the better where I'm at now (moved from the West coast to TX).  It really doesn't feel any better.

  5. I'm sorry to hear about your aunt. :(

I don't even think I can remember half the things that have happened in the past three years, but I'll try.

-Finished school, got accepted to college.

-Moved out of my dad's house and into my mother's.

-Lost the friendship of my best friend of about five years [that was only about two weeks ago though :P]

My mind really is blank, I'll have to think about this and come back. :)

  6. I've learned a lot more, my opinions on a lot of things have changed. I've made new friends, because some of my other friends didn't treat me that well. I've taken a lot better care of myself, eaten a lot healthier. But on the down side, i guess i've become more depressive and shy. But then i was always shy....
