i think its open to perception whether or not she had feelings for him. i think she did, but she was afraid of him. and she did stay with the other guy. it eludes to the fact that the phantom lived because at the end of the movie the ring she gave him is on her grave.

She had feelings, but mainly confused ones. On the one hand she had spent most of her life thinking he was her angel, sent from heaven. She was in love with what she thought he might be. After that perhaps some pity for his life as a recluse.

She stayed with Raoul, her real love.

She didn't choose the phantom because he lied to her. He came to her falsely for years under the impression he was sent to her from her dead father. After that she watched him murder several people and blackmail the managers for money. After wards he kidnaps her once more and attempts to kill the one man he really loves, to force her there against her will. She chose the man she really loved. You can't choose to love someone you don't.

She gave the ring back as most likely a symbol of respect.

If you go by the book, Erik (the phantom) dies. Webber leaves it apparent he did not.
