  1. No idea  .  i never do?  Anything to do with the colour of Birmingham City football shirts???

  2. Maybe from the movie Old School?

"You're my boy Blue!!!  You're my BOY!"

  3. I've never heard those before.

  4. I don't think it's just a Midlands thing, I live in Lancashire but I've only ever heard my dad use it. He always says it in an Australian accent, so I guess he got it from when he was over there! :D

  5. I have never heard of these phrases before except in Australia I think they use them

  6. It's Australian.  They call people with red hair "blue".  This is because people with red hair are known to have fiery tempers and in Australia "to have a blue" is to have a fight.  Therefore they will call people "blue".

  7. alot of times baseball umpires are called "blue" because that's the color they wear.  It's very common, at least in Ohio.

  8. never heard of it. must be a local thing.

  9. It must be from a film or something that's  just caught on in certain parts of the world...!

  10. One theory was a shortening of  a ' True-blue '

proberly meaning true to his/her word, the

blue bit, from royalty giving their word/oath on something,

or I misunderstood it when I was told.

  11. Well, I can answer part of the question. I come from the south-east, and I've never heard that expression before, so it must be specific to the midlands.

  12. never heard those phrases...but its prolly cause blues an awesome color!!!!! =]

  13. I'm from the US (from MA, living in CT now), and it's a sports thing, specifically baseball here.  The umpires wear blue, so "Nice one Blue." and "Thanks Blue." are usually sarcastic acknowledgements of lousy calls.

  14. never heard of those phrases
