From Garner, Alan; "The Moon of Gomrath"; Ballantine,

the end of the Old Magick Exorcism, it says "Eson Eson Emaris!"

What does that mean?

  1. The Moon of Gomrath is a book, a work of fiction. Eson! Eson! Emaris! can mean anything the author Alan Garner wants it to mean.

  2. In Latin the prefix "e" means

    out, away from; beyond; completely;

    but "eson" isn't Latin that I can find

    em.aris-

    buy; gain, acquire, obtain

    I'd say it's not Latin, it's also not German, Russian, Hungarian, Portuguese, French or Danish; in fact I'd say it's gibberish except that I've seen it elsewhere so...? At this point I'm curious to see if anyone knows.
