  1. Sequel ??

ok now ill answer didnt think there was a sequel to color of money Straights got it the movie ends at the start of their match Eddie does not finish the tourn  in Atlantic City Eddie broke the rack and said im back !!the end

  2. Doesn't Vince throw it?  Can't really remember if Eddie makes it all the way or not, but I'm pretty sure that when they play each other, Eddie wins.  Did you read the book?  Oddly enough, there is no Vince character at all in the book.  Completely different story.  Weird, huh?  Oh, or were you asking who's the true champ in his heart?  Either way, I'd say Eddie.

p.s.  Both 'The Hustler' and 'The Color of Money' were very good books.

  3. Really think that Eddie is the winner in the long run.....the "head game" left in his head from "The Hustler" had finally gone away in Eddie's mind....a "mental" block was still there that kept him from getting back to the top......this "comeback" according to him was that a comeback and he was back....he was convinced in his mind and was going to show or prove it to Vince.....Eddie was the winner....."he was back!"

  4. Right on Lea.  The Walter Tevis novels of "The Hustler" and "The Color of Money" are fantastic.  I enjoyed how they brought back the Minnesota Fats character in the book.  Lea is right, the book is completely different from the movie.  As far as the movie is concerned.  Neither player wins the tournament at the end of the movie.  Vince bets against himself and throws his match to Eddie and tells him about it later.  Knowing that he didn't beat Vince legitimately, Eddie quits the tournament.  The movie ends with them both playing a match of 9-ball in the green room and we never learn who wins that match.  The idea is that Eddie doesn't care how long it takes, he's going to beat Vince fair and square.  It's one of my favorite movies and happens to have my favorite director, Martin Scorsese.  M.D.-BCA Instructor/Referee.

  5. It was left to the imagination as to who won so we don't know but my eyesight, tired feet, aching back, AND money was on Eddie.

    An Older Comeback Player,

    K

  6. When Fast Eddie and Vince draw each other, Vince deliberately missed a cross side bank shot. Fast Eddie wins the match. Later Vince shows up at Fast Eddie's room and hands him an envelop with 15-thousand-dollars in it. Eddie looks confused. That's when Vince admitted he threw the match and that was his share.

Remember earlier in the movie they were partners and agreed to split on their winnings. Vince won a bundle by throwing the match. Plus, because of that, other players were lining up to play him all night.

Fast Eddie quits the tournament so neither of them won the big one.

Don't know if you remember this but... when the announcer was calling out players and tables... he mentioned Saint Louie Louie. Louie Roberts died a few years later.

And everyone is right... it was a great movie.
