In the series Negima, is the class they are in 2-A or 3-A?

I keep seeing both of them, which is it?

They are in 2-A in the animes, but in they manga, they are 2-A and then advance to 3-A. Both are correct.

At the beginning of the series they are in class 2-A, after the first couple of books they go through their final exams and go up a grade to class 3-A. So both are technically correct.
