In the sims 2 nintendo D's game where you have to look after the hotel,how do you use the hotel reacotor ?

my friends say you have to find a nuclear rod in red instead of green and give it to the hotel reactor and i can not find it i do not no if they are right but can somebody please help me .

if you are wondering the task is to find 3 metal bars in the desert with a metal detector set by frankie frusllli
