I know of a person who is claiming that his attorney arranged for the judge to let him keep his regular DL but not his class C DL due to having two or more DUI. This claim to me, sounds totally twisted! I don't believe that a judge is willing to let someone keep their regular DL but not their business DL, especially if on the second DUI this perosn got, he crashed a parked car (with no people in it) right in front of a cop. Do you guys feel there is something funny going on here? Again, this is for the state of CA, and I hate it when people who are bad get away with stuff like this. He should get locked up for a few days, maybe that will teach him not to drink more than what he can handle, and then get behind the wheel of a car. HOW STUPID IS THAT!!!!

  1. I think it depends on how long it has been between the two DUI's. It does sound goffy, but at least he should not be out driving a big rig loaded.

  2. No,

if a CDL is suspended,  a regular drivers license will also be suspended.

  3. I have lived in California ALL of my life and there are some GOOFY LEGAL Ranglings that go on here...but that isn't one of them...this guy is either lying or is majorly CONFUSED....I say the Former.

  4. A judge would have to be out of his or her mind to let anyone keep their license having a DUI. The whole story sounds like California dreaming to me.

  5. He could get his regular license back after all fines are paid while not eligible to obtain a CDL.
