In southern California are fight clubs legal? Not like the the system in the movie fight club but the system they used in the movie Never Back Down. Just sparring basically, fighting to gain some fight experience. Everyone is required to wear gloves. Basically the same rules as the MMA cept the knockout count is three seconds because we don't want anyone getting to hurt. And refs to stop the fights if they get to bad. And if one fighter wants out of the fight he just needs to yell stop. so would that be legal or no?

  1. Its legal as long as all the parties participating consent the possibility of getting hurt, its a crime if you hit someone without them wanting u to but if they are giving you permission to hit them then its perfectly legal just like football or any other contact sport, but if you really wanna b legally safe have everyone sign a contract (doesnt need to be so formal just it letting the person know that they might get hurt and that they are participating by their own will without being forced) have them sign it and now you have written consent just in case you need to prove that the person knew what they were getting into before hand.

other than that the only other reason why the government/law might wanna get involved would be if you are gambling or using the fights as a way to get monetary gain (in other words if money is involved)

  2. I'm unaware of your state or area's laws but if you are worried about legal issues maybe call an attorney or court. I'm not sure about calling a police dept. It's kind of more like starting an Elks club that boxes instead of drinks. I really don't know what kind of problems you would run into legally unless you were trespassing or things to that nature. I know of some kids that do wrestling and boxing at their house and have friends/family over but they are out of city limits and never have any complaints to my knowledge.

  3. I think you have to get a license, for anything of that nature.

  4. I pretty sure that it's legal, you would most likely need to get a license to operate it though. And I don't think they would allow you to do it in your backyard for safety reasons. Most likely you would need to buy a facility like a gym to open a fight club.

  5. Probably would be as long as there is a referee and, gloves.

  6. I'm pretty sure it's legal, I mean, they do it in gyms. And more importantly, like, if no one presses charges or cares, who's gonna stop you?
