In the state of Texas, 4 yrs ago.....

Went to court, court appointed lawyer, fine.......sat in county a month , then pen for 2yrs...on parole.....2yrs left...now court cost 250,court appointed lawyer 250 , fine 2,000.....does this sound right to ne one? Parole officer said it is something new and they are just giving me a chance to start paying it sooner but doesn't really go in effect till next month?

Well, I don't have access (nor do I want to know) to a list of your current assets and finances.  When you fill out the affadavit for a court appointed attorney, you also may have to pay costs for the attorney, and court fees.  The judge tells you all this before you are sworn in that all the information is true and correct.  

    As for the fine, you would have found this out during your sentencing hearing.  If the judge did not sentence you with the fine, then you don't have a fine to pay.  But my guess is that he probably did sentence it to you, and you again for some reason didn't hear the judge.  

    If you have a question about the $2000 fine, then call the Circut Clerks office, and ask them for a history disposition on your case.  If the judge didn't fine you $2000 as part of your punishment, then tell the circut clerk whats up, and they'll help you get it taken care of.
