In the state of Texas can a felon obtain a commercial helicopter license?

The conviction was about ten years ago for burglary of a building. I'm trying to find out information for my brother because he loves helicopters and I figured he could make more money flying them.

  1. Texas doesn't issue helicopter licenses but the FAA has no problem with it.

    Crop dusting, Transmission wire maintenance, Logging, Construction....lots...

  3. Yes, they can obtain their license. It's up to the FAA not the State of Texas. The FAA does say that you have to be of good moral character for an ATP.

    But the chances of him finding work are very slim with a felony. At least on fixed-wing carriers.
