I purchased a 1990 toyota camry and the person i bought it from moved to some other state without first getting me the registration now, my car has been towed and i need the registration under my name to get it out before it gets expensive. there is no way of contacting the previous owner so that can't be an option. all i have is the tittle and sale receipt.

  1. Its not the previous owner's responsiblity to get you a registration card.  Go to the DMV with the signed title.  They will issue you a new title and a registration card...well as long as you have insurance.

  2. yes you can, but he has to sign-off the title of the vehicle and/or give you a the famous pink slip.

But the title is what you really need from him, get him to sign it, and put the price of what sold it to you, and go the sectary office and they will give u a knew title

  3. yes as long as the title has been signed over.  I have never known of a previous owner going to the dmv with the new owner.  It is normal to do it alone.
