  1. pudgiebutcute, I recommend you find a local auto insurance agent to help. Since I live in Wyoming I can't recommend an agent in Wisconsin, but here is an website that can help you. http://www.easyautoinsuranceguide.com/Wi...

    Good Luck!

  2. Yes, it's true in every state.  Don't drive the car unless and until it's insured.  You can contact your agent in advance, give him all the information except the car, then call him from the dealer to give him the VIN and he can fax over your card.  Then there will be no problem.

Someone is bound to tell you that you're insured for 30 days by the car lot.  You aren't, so ignore that advice.

  3. Put it this way: if you were to smash into a $450.000 car and total it while driving off the lot without insurance you'd be suddently in debt of $450.000 REAL MONEY that would have to be somehow paid..

Does that makes sense? You can easily do 1 million damage by running over someone and disabling them for life.

Also, there are MANY people that get into car accidents 10 minutes after buying their cars, especially new drivers. Life can be real bad when you start doing adult things, there are real stingers out there, so listen to your parents and buy your insurance.

  4. 1. Car insurance is not mandatory in cheeseland. I don't know why they don't require it but they should. They do require that you be financially responsible for any damages you cause.

    2. You are asking for trouble to drive the car anywhere without insurance. It is much cheaper to buy insurance than it is to pay for any damages you might cause.

    3. You do NEED the insurance, but the state does not require that you buy it.

    4. Do yourself a favor and buy a policy before you take the car home. You won't get any coverage from the dealership.

  5. I suggest you locate a nearby auto insurance agent to help. Since I live in Hawaii I can't suggest an agent in Wisconsin, but here is an resource that can help you. http://www.usinsuranceadvisor.com/Auto-I...

    Good Luck.
