In the state of colorado. How long of a lunch break am I supposed to take for a 9 hour shift.?

I have tried to search every where and the laws are all un clear so I hope someone out there knows and would help out.

  1. Federal guidelines call for a 30 minute break for anyone working a full 8 hour day.  State and company policies may differ and certain professions are not covered by labor laws.  Check with the Colorado State Department of Labor and the Federal department of Labor for specifics.


  2. In the State of Colorado you are entitled to at least a 30 minute "uninterrupted meal period" if your shift lasts at least  four hours. You are also entitled to a 10 minute rest period (break) for each four hours of work.   So the answer to your question is - you are entitled to at least a half hour lunch and two ten minute breaks for a 9 hour shift.
