In the state of florida, is it legal to...?

Question

keep ALOT of birds and such in CAGES, not a chicken house or a pen or whatever. this is my neighbor. we think we've seen peacocks, white doves, and alot of other birds.

we've found 2 chickens hanging by a rope and knotted in the cage.

this is my uncles property by the way, they're renting the place.

im only 13 and i don't know but..

is this, at all legal? should i call the cops?

A lot of the birds you mention aren't actually protected by any state or federal laws.  This would make it legal to keep them or do any number of things to/with them.

There may, however, be local laws about the number of animals permitted on a property and the care they each require.

There is something going on behind that fence since  most people in fl don't have a wood fence unless they plan on doing something illegal and if you seen a chicken hung by a rope that's a red flag going up for me call the animal control and have them check  out the situation and if the animals are being abused in any way they will be taken and uncle will face animal abuse of animals  you can do this without giving your name and you should do so ASAP since these may not be the only animals abused behind this fence..Some will say its just a bird well this bird had a life and NO one should treat any animal like it has no feelings cause they ALL DO and they suffer from the hand of HUMANS more than ANY other creature on EARTH, At least when its killed  by other animals its eaten.

It is legal to kill the chickens but not the peacocks and other birds you listed, however it is usually legal to have those birds. The only time it isn't legal is when you live in a CITY that doesn't allow it. They have to have be in barnyard animal limits. If I were you I wouldn't call the cops.
