In the state of utah can a 15 year old girl get and abortion without her parents knowing?

i recieved a shock today to know that my ex is pregnant. she is planning on getting and abortion and i just wanted to know if it is possible to get an abortion without her parents knowing?

Whether you can get an abortion without parental consent depends on which state you live in. Some states don't require parental consent and some allow another adult relative to give consent/receive notification. Unfortunately Utah is NOT one of these states. In Utah you are required to both give parental notification AND get parental consent (although I'm pretty sure you only need one parent, not both).

And you can't just drive to another state that doesn't have parental consent laws, the laws of your residential state follow you.  

She can try to bypass the parental consent by appearing before a judge and giving them a reason why she shouldn't have to get consent (I don't know how difficult this is though, I imagine you would need a pretty good reason).

She would need parental consent, or a court order to bypass parent consent.

I doubt it in Utah.  Utah is a pretty moral state (its all those mormons) so they practically won't let anyone have an abortion let alone a 15 year old.

Keep the baby.  I know for a fact they have good adoption agency's there.  Contact the church for help.  They will even let you pick out the family.

That is so sad no girl should have to do that and especially alone, then again if you didnt take precautions then you both brought that on yourselfs.

That is silly. She can't just walk into an abortion clinic alone. Her mother or other legal guardian has to be with her.
