    Legally, only with a court order and that would have to be serious crime for them to issue one. (excluding the usual MI? depts)

    but you can do it,it only cost around £35 for the device thats voice activated. and doesnt give a tone when recording.

    I used to install voic recorders, and non have the recording beep, hence the recorded message, "that this call MAY be used for security and training purposes".

    Trust me, all calls to firms that give this warning are recorded. without doubt.

    also telephone engineers, an engineers DSTS2 or 5 test telephone, i could plug onto any line and listen in or record any conversation, if they wanted too, but why?

  3. Quite a few organisations can, the Government and it's departments, police etc, with an appropriate court order.

    If you're using a mobile, anyone with the right equipment and the Government listening station at Goonhilly Down in Cornwall which can, and does, monitor radio and satelite transmissions all over the world.

    None of your transmissions can be used against you without a court order though.
