In the war georgia and russia i still dont get it who is "bad" and who is "good"?

i heard that russia is protecting assetia from georgia but i still dont know the real reason

georgia.

georgia believes that the land of south ossetia should be theirs, so they went in bombing towns and trying to kill civilians. basically what they think is by doing this all the civilians of south ossetia will leave. so far they have killed about 2000 people. So russia is coming in to support south ossetia and get the georgians out by attacking back. Of course since the us is geogias ally everyones going to be hearing georgias side of the story, which is bullshit. I have relatives from south ossetia and none of this would have happened if the georgian government stayed in their own ******* land and didnt decide to start bombing innocent people.

nah sorry you won't get that kind of clear cut bad good c**p. All countries have skeletons in their closets. Russia is the invader, on the pretext of helping out a breakaway republic (how many really believe this is the reason?) with Georgia being the invaded. Take that however you will.

please note that south Ossetia is not a part of Russia, they are an independant republic! No matter how much Russia wants the Soviet bloc to return, it will not!

OK guys, as I can see some of you've got a point, some of you not.

First of all, on a night from 7 to 8 of August, it was Georgia who started the fight, they started shooting in civil houses, kinder gardens, hospitals, schools, around 1500 civil people dead in South Osetia. Also they killed around 15 Russian peace keepers. Also it is a lot of Russian citizens living there. So basically Russia just went there to protect their people. It was just a reaction on Georgia aggression. It's all started a long time ago.

I don't think that Russia is "BAD" in this situation. Georgia started this. Nobody wants this war, nobody wants their soldiers and people to be dead, and I hope it should finish soon.

Russian planes entered the airspace of a sovereign country and were shot down, so Russia is in the wrong.

There really isn't a clear cut good or bad. But whatever grievances Georgia has with Russia, starting a war with them was a really bad idea.

Georgia bombed South Ossetia, killing over 1,400 civilians, half of which were Russian citizens. They also killed 10 Russian peacekeepers. Russia was forced to respond to protect the Ossetians. Georgia was definitely the aggressor in this situation.

If you watched the Opening Ceremonies in China for the Olympics; and noticed that both President Bush and the Russian President are not watching the ceremonies but negotiating over rather Bush will support Georgia's President; who is on America's friends list. There is no good cowboy or bad cowboy; just Grey. The dispute is over boarder limitations and old cultural conflicts.
