  1. Exactly,Ms_Demon

  2. Ultimately it is the woman's decision whether to have children or not.  If the woman proposes, she has her children.  If the man proposes and she accepts, she has his children.

Why would a woman propose? Surely in this day and age she would just have children if she wanted her own children.

Not sure what tradition has to do with it!

  3. oh course it is!!

  4. acceptable is not how i would put it. It's merely frowned upon. Guys nowadays are wimps so If you love him go for it. Only you two will know and if you want change the story afterwards and say he proposed to you.

  5. No i think it should be the mans job it dosent seem right for a woman to get on her knees for a man......

  6. Sure, why not?  If you can't imagine spending your life without him, then ask him.  If you two are really on the same page, what difference does it make?

My husband *told* me we were getting married, showed me the budget he'd worked out and what we were going to put into retirement (he's quite a planner).  Then he said "And we're going to have FUN!" and got so excited he left without kissing me.  Not too romantic (but funny now) but the marriage has been a dream.  So don't worry too much about the proposal, just go get hitched.  The sooner you do, the sooner the fun starts!!

  7. Well if it's not - what the h**l are L*****n's going to do!?

  8. It's very acceptable. It is a leap year after all!

(or does it have to be 29th Feb?)

as long as you both agree who cares who asks.

edit: Faith right. It is nice to be asked. I bet the men who gets asked are well chuffed! :)

    lol @ gala

  9. hang on, men are now taught that we (men and women) are equal.

I take it you do not believe this and hence, have the need to ask this question.

    Of course it is acceptable.

PMSL at Rash above. (your first wife! you've had 2? jeez man, you should have learnt your lesson after the first time!!)

  10. Lol yeh, women can propose, but offering a diamond ring might be a bit weird

  11. In Bulgaria when a person says no they nod their head and when yes they shake it which can be very confusing especially when proposing. I asked my wife to marry me and she nodded. I was so happy she did not have the heart to tell me she meant no !! So yes women should ask a man if she really wants to marry her man.

  12. well if you want a job doing right !

my first husband proposed to me while he was taking a number 2 on the loo, stoopidly i said yes, now i wonder why, why, why ?  lol

  13. Sure ~ Go for it!

  14. I don't care. I'd prefer a bloke to do it for me, but whatever makes people happy.

Sometimes Women proposing can be brilliant :)))))

  15. Course it is, nothing wrong with it at all.

  16. I don't think there is anything wrong in that. My first wife proposed to me and I reluctantly said yes. On second thoughts maybe thats not such a good idea. You can't really say no to a woman, unless you want your head kicked in.

  17. Perfectly acceptable. But you'll then run the risk of being turned down just the same as blokes do. But hey why not, this is the 21st century so go for it?

  18. im traditional but i think today chicks actually do that stuff lol....im stickin with the old ways tho...i dropped hints until he finally got it =)

  19. This is an exact transcript of how Mr Mrs Haz got married. We'd been together 7yrs at this point.

Me- Are you bothered about marriage, do you think it's important?

Him-errr....I suppose ..er ...yeah..I think so.

Me- So you want to get married?

    Him- hmm yes.

Me -I assume you mean me?

    Him- Oh go on then.

We celebrated by having half each of a bottle of Newcastle Brown Ale.

Does that count as me proposing?

  20. In Ireland a Women can propose to a Man every Leap year because during the 5th century, a nun by the name of St. Bridget, petitioned St. Patrick on behalf of all women in that they have a more active role in choosing their mates. As a result of this request, women were allowed to propose to men once every four years. A man who refused a proposal during the leap-year was obligated to offer a conciliatory kiss and gift of a silk gown. Anyway I can see why not you can’t propose to your Boyfriend, Go for it and best of luck

  21. well yeah, my parents did none of the male bending it was one afternoon watching some program and mum goes d you think we should get married, dad goes sure love. next dad the go hunting for rings.

in another story one of my friends dads wrote WILL YOU MARRY ME in dominoes and blindfolded his girlfriend at the time then hit the dominoes with the engagement ring needless to say he got rejected.

  22. Is there something you want to ask me? ;)

  23. Men should do the asking. The woman should do the shutting up and being obedient part.

  24. On February 29th, why not?  (Sadie Hawkins day).

Seriously, the answer is generally "No."  There are a few exceptions, but for the most part a woman that proposes marriage is ignoring the reality of gender differences.  And that doesn't bode well for any relationship.

  25. Its nice to be asked...mine actually went on bended knee!

    Won't forget that feeling...!

But if the man is worth it & needs a nudge, i think its fine that the woman asks...actually its rather cute...!  Isn't it a tradition for women to propose in the leap year?! Don't know the significance and there isn't any need for wait for the next leap year...um...just leap into it right now!

    : )

  26. are they that desperate now a days.

  27. There's absolutely no reason why a woman shouldn't propose. If it's someting they both want then it can only be a good thing :)

  28. A lot has changed for women. Who's to say this can't be another change that might better improve a woman's life?

If you love the guy, go for it :)

  29. Definitely, men should do the asking.

    Traditional is good.

We, ladies will always be special and important.

We have to keep our heart and mind controlled all the time. And trust our instinct and be confident.

After all, ladies are the goddess. Venus.
