Today's "pen pals" are now "e-buddies" or "text pals."  The convenience of instant messaging has replaced waiting for snail mail from a distant pen pal.

I like getting texts and emails and myspace comments, but still find nothing beats a good old fashiond envelope dropping through the letter box (Y)
