Yesterday, by accident I saw an interesting documentation about the Castle of Windsor. In which it was documented how many people it takes to put up a state affair banquet.

It was a majestic in-fluencial affair. However, do we really need such things now a days? When you could easily serve a chicken or pork roast in an oven? Who needs to go through such long pre-pardness and even meassure with a stick how far a plate is from each other or a chair is before a table?

  1. We don't need royalty and we don't need all the paraphernalia that goes with it.

  2. NO!

  3. Absolutely I couldn't sit down to a serving of head of state without something to distract me from what I was eating...

  4. These receptions are held to pay respect to dignitaries from other countries, they do the same thing. It's Windsor Castle by the way

  5. Is it "needed" -- No.  Is it fun to watch and dream what it might be like--Sure.

  6. it's called tradition, long may it reign, it's also called employment and brings in a bit of brass ! The royal family, especially the queen earns more money and investment for Gt Britain than it costs to keep the whole of the royal family. Foreigners love the pomp and ceremony. GOD SAVE THE QUEEN.
