do people rebuild and stay in the same hazard zone? The relief effort costs millions. Wouldn't it be better to take that money and relocate to safer ground?

  1. Because of the news. I think it always happened, we just didn't hear about it.

We keep sending money to these places and letting them keep there land. If we were smart we would say here's the check, you can have it when you give us the deed, go buy or build somewhere else so we don't have to pay for the same house on the same spot twice.

I would imagine there attatude is that of, as long as your going to give me money, I am going to rebuild.

Those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

It's just bad cause I know people who live in those places...

If you think mankind is a more than a drop in the bucket of "Global Warming" read about the "Antarctic volcanoes identified as a possible culprit in glacier melting"

  2. and what would be better every where has it own problem drought, hurricanes, blizzards.  No where is safe.  tornados leave very small paths of destruction unlike all the other natural desasters and I live in torado alley and in 30 years have never even seen a tornado
