Ok heres what happened I went into a chat room lookin for someone to talk to, this room is for older people and I get a message the norm asl happens and the person says 16 f, well I tell em I dont really wanna talk to them cause their young, well they talk and say we can talk about other things and goes on about how her uncle abuses her or something, I tell her thats wrong and she needs to tell someone, when they tell me this I think its someone in trouble and try to convince them they need to tell someone, well i guess later they go on and say its not true and start asking me what I look like, I say that it dont matter, and I tell ask why she in that room and they say they like older guys and all that, well long story short they start saying they do all these bad things and I tell em its not right, in the end this person says there from some website to catch perverts and such my ip has been tracked blah blah blah, thinking maybe this was put in the wrong chat because I never said anything of a sexual nature even though they pretty much tried to force me into saying something bad I never did, I tell em this and they well no you never did but you never said no to my advances to it, even though I repeatly said im not into that thing.

I have never made any dirty comment to this person, although they tried many times to initiate something like that, they even ask for my phone number to which I said no, asked to share pics I said no, I honestly thought this was someone who needed help and was trying to suggest to them to seek it.

I have the chat log saved in case something does come of it, if i never said anything sexual in nature can I really get in trouble because I simply talked to this person? I said repeatly im not into the cyber thing and even said if they keep trying to turn it that way I will leave.

  1. Why can't you "chat" with somebody else ?

  2. The fact alone that she said some total story about her uncle and herself not being true discredits, really, anything else she could say.  I honestly doubt she would even be 16, if she lied about so many things.  Like it's been said before, kids will be kids, and realistically it is her parents own fault for letting her be in a room like that and not monitoring what she's doing to begin with.  But, like the first poster said, she has likely forgotten about the encounter, so I wouldn't worry about it.

And, if she was really a cop looking for perverts, she wouldn't have told you.  I think she's just looking for attention.

  3. If they had been with the internet police they would NOT have told you, you would have just gotten in trouble. .

They were feeding you a line..

  4. They're just kids, making themselves feel grownup by talking about grownup things, shocking things.  They don't mean anything by it, and most likely have forgotten the whole encounter.

  5. You cannot be in trouble for something you didn't do. And nothing that you described doing here is illegal. People are allowed to talk to kids.

However, there was nothing to be gained by continuing that chat either, and I would give you the friendly advice that you should have bailed out as soon as it turned in this direction.

  6. way too much info.  he said/she said blah blah blah  but mostly you need to understand that people are not who they appear to be online and that no-one can contact you if you didn't give out phone no/address etc.  you do know enough to not do that, right?
