In ufc what is small joint manipulation?

what does this mean its against the rules i know that but what exactly is small joint manipulation

fingers toes wrist toungue u get it from here it is a stupid rule that for the most part is enforced succesfuly by the stupid gloves although i dont have a problem with the no toungue thing

you can not break fingers or toes. you can go for ankle and wrists though. you would never get a wrist because of how tightly they are taped and the gloves help stop it also. but the rule is for fingers and toes

Attacking the fingers to get out of a rear-naked choke or another submission attempt.  Or the toes.

What everyone else said, AND, its dangerous; because of the pressure of fighting, people lose control, and permanent injury to the tendons and joints of the hands or feet will deep six your MMA career.
