i go to Whitney hs(7th-12th grade)which has a very Asian population. im going to 9th grd but i really struggled with confidence because i got b's and c's, im not too popular(only 1 great friend) and im not overweight but im not exactly skinny and most Asians are very stick thin. my brother is going to my home high school, and im trying to decide if i should drop out and maybe do better and have more friends, or stay with my bff and struggle with self confidence. please help me!!!!

p.s. i never had really good friends and this is my 1st really good friend ever.

  1. This is something you can build your confidence. When you go out of town with your friend say hi to every boy that looks your age. when he says something back communicate by starting out easy like name, school, age, and also likes and dislikes. soon you will have confidence and you can make new friends in your age group and older ones to.

  2. Stick with your bff and work on your self confidence!  Don't quit school!

Think about how you want to live the rest of your life, whenever you're done with school:

Would you rather live your life making minimum wage or doing hard labor?

Or would you like to make something of yourself, and at least graduate from high school?

    Best of luck to you.

  3. Self confidence comes from within you...not from your location. You need to be strong and confident where ever you are and with whatever you are doing. Try to stick it out and be positive.

  4. Stay. Switching schools will be more difficult than you may realize. You will have to start making friends all over again. You can expand your friendship group by inviting 1-2 of the new students to hang out with you and your best friend.

Work on your grades. Perhaps you need to try some new study techniques. Check out the website www.howtostudy.org for tips on studying for specific classes. Seek out a tutor or join a study group for any classes you want extra support for. This is what the "A" students do. This is another way to make friends.

Finally, don't compare yourself to other girls. We all develop at different rates. There is probably someone out there who is envious of your curves. It is more important to take good care of yourself by eating well and getting regular exercise.
