  1. You can serve with closed fist but I certainly would not reccomend it.  It is very hard to control the flight of the ball and you can't get any spin on your serve with a closed fist

  2. It is legal, but I would highly reccomend that you DON'T. Fisting the ball means that the ball will bounce off the bones in your hand, which means it could go anywhere. Also, and open palm will give you more top spin to snap down on.

  3. It's legal, but as a coach, I can guarantee that your coach won't like it.  It is SO much harder to control the serve with a closed fist.  If you are having trouble getting the ball over with an open hand, ask your coach for ways to improve.  And actually listen.  :o)  I coach middle schoolers, and I have this problem often.  My players are not allowed to serve with a closed fist at all.

  4. no...i play volleyball as a freshaman and it's not legal...you can only serve overhand:kind of like slapping the ball really hard! ya know???

you also can't punch the ball over the net...the other team will get a point...you also cant step over the line..anything else you would like to know?

  5. Serving with a fist is legal in all volleyball.  International, USAV, college, high school and junior high.

It is not recommended.  It may be banned by the coach.  But the referee will not whistle it.

The serve with the fist has a little more power, but much less control.

  6. Yes you can, actually you can use any part of your body during the game at any time if absolutely necessary though.  Otherwise, stick to using your forearms(for bumbing), fingertips(for setting), and lower palm(for spiking).

I don't recommend using your fists for serving or any other time of play because you really can't control the flight or power of the ball.

  7. When serving you can serve with a fist or open hand, under hand or over hand, whatever feels comfortable. In competitive volleyball you usually serve over hand with an open hand but it doesn't matter.

Also i played varsity as a freshman so listen to me, this girl above me doesn't know what she's talking about...
