  2. sprawling- is the act of diving on the floor w/ your body all sprawled out to its full length to reach a ball.

rolling- can either mean rolling over your shoulder when you dive for a ball. or it is a means of getting the ball over with a hit, when you are not in a positon to approach or jump.

outside hitter- is simply the attacker, on the left side of the net, furthest away from the setter(in the front row).

middle  blocker(s rock! lol)- play in the middle of the front row  and  it is their responsiblity to get to every hit ball and block it. when the ball is on their side of the net they are also a hitter, usually not the power one.

Defensive Specialist- backrow player who is especially good at digging/passing and does not play front row.

  3. rolling is a type of move two get to far balls, it is usually done so that there will be less impact when you hit the floor.

outside hitters are spikers in the zone 2 and 4. they usually do an open set and spike somewhere near the antenna

middle blocker are those which has the task to block quick hits.

defensive specialist is people who are only specializing in the line of defense. on that is best known is the libero. he only comes in to receive spikes. he cannot serve and block. others only come in to block or be like a libero but is not actually a libero.

  4. sprawling is a dive/ dig

outside hitter is a spiker on the end

middle blocker is a person who uses there hands to block serves and spikes

Defensive Specialist- i think that is like a libreo (sp?) they usually just pass/ bump
