  1. Many volleyball try outs have multiple stages in the try out process.

    When they say that you made the first "cut," it is the same as staying that you have made it through the first stage, or phase of the try outs.


  2. usually there is more than one tryout, first cut is when you make it past the first tryout. and they keep having tryouts until they have the right amount of players

  3. Your team is having multiple "cuts" meaning that you made it through to the next set of practices and tryouts until the next "cut." It's a good thing.

  4. Some teams go through a week or so for try out, and there could be a "cut" at the end of each day.

    When they say, "I made first cut", it means they earned a seat in further try-out, but may not have been guaranteed a spot on the final roster.


  5. It means you made it pass the first try-outs, but it doesn't mean you're on the team because they will probably be more cuts until they have the number of players they need.

  6. It means that you move on to the "next round" in volleyball tryouts, if you make the Final Cut you are on the team.
