  1. shank means to pass the ball horribly

  2. Yup, like when you COMPLETELY s***w up passing the ball and it goes to an impossible corner nobody can reach or ends up going WAY out. Pretty embarassing. I speak from experience =D

  3. yeah it basically means you s***w up a pass and the ball kinda goes flying. (in the wrong direction)

  4. yeah, a shank is usually when the oposing team hits the ball at you really hard and you go to bump it and it flies in the wrong direction, It can also be your own teamates passing you the ball and your pass goes extremely out of bounds.

  5. well, i have to disagree. i think  a shank is more like a pass that isn't hit in the usually correct form, just randomly. sometimes you can't help it but shank, especially when someone has hit a really good hit and there's no way you can get into position to pass or dig it.  then you shank. i usually do it with one arm, and i find that i am a pretty good at shanking things. they're definitely NOT out of control if you know how to do it right.

  6. Shanked is when the ball hits you and deflects off the court.

  7. A severe mishit in which the ball is badly spiked or passed. On a shank, a player has managed to strike the ball in an uncontrolled manner. A shanked shot will go a short distance, often in an odd direction.

  8. like if you hit the ball wayyyy off the court, then someone shags it (meaning to run after it and get it)

  9. Golf and volleyball shanks are the same except for one minor difference.  If you are right handed in golf, your shank goes to the right after hitting off the shank of the club.  In volleyball, the shank goes any direction but the one you want.  A volleyball shank can go far to the right or the left or even behind you.
