  1. They can apparently be grown ANYwhere!

"Luther Burbank bred the WonderBerry (which he called SunBerry) from an African species and a European species, which he patiently crossed for 10 years or more to develop the new species.

In Northeastern Colorado, the plants got about 2 ft high but grew very well. I think it was part of Luther Burbank's projects to develop plants that would be of value in the heat and low rainfall of the Great Plains. "

    And more:

"Very small shrub, usually growing to only 12-24". The wonderberry can fruit at just 3-4" high. The plants are exceedingly easy to grow and care is similar to the tomato, except that wonderberries tend to be less picky about temperature and water, and generally fruit much faster. Can be grown in full or part sun outdoors, or in a sunny window."

    And:

    "Solanum burbankii

    a.k.a. Garden Huckleberry, Sunberry

    Sunset Zones: All zones

    USDA: All zones

Small, dark purple fruit closely resembling the highly poisonous nightshade. The ripe fruits don't taste like much, but when cooked with sugar, have a pleasant berry flavor that is usually used as a flavoring for pies and desserts.

Fruits are poisonous when still green"
