i know its fiction..but is there any more detailed sub-categories for it?

i found out that there's this sub-category, contemporary realistic fiction..however, that deals with almost real happenings right?.. where would i place this story?.. its about a girl whose brother has an autism spectrum disorder. but she does not know what an ASD is. so as a result, she thought that her brother has a friend dwarf.. where do i categorized that story? ..thanks.

Literature with dwarves is usually called fantasy.

Stories that use the mythological dwarfs would be under fairy tales, but as your story isn't using an actual dwarf.I would think you would place it under the category you gave as that event seems entirely likely.
