She was not enumerated on the 1850 or 1860 census. She had been sold at that point and sent to the South, then escaped and was working on the Underground Railroad. Because she was an escaped slave, she did her best to avoid anything that could be used to track her down and send her back.

Neither of the records above are her. The Harriet you're researching was born in 1820.

In 1870 she married Nelson Davis of NC.  She had lived in Auburn NY with her family before her marriage. Neither of them show up on the census for either SC or NY.

In 1880 they're living in Fleming, Cayuga Co NY.
