  1. I always leave a tip. My best friend is a waitress & she has to put up with a lot of c**p from others at work. The only reason I won't leave a tip if the waitress was being rude.

  2. I was a waitress (in another life) so 'ditto' Laurie V.

  3. when they are rude and arrogant and when they don't know  the items they are selling from the menu.

  4. If she didn't ask to refill our cups, if she wouldn't let me order off the kid's menu even though I am a teen. if we had to ask for more drink, if she came late to our table, if she came to give us drinks, but never asked our order, if it's been 10 minutes and she hasn't come to our table, if the food was cold, if the dessert was melting, if I didn't have enough money to tip the waitress, if I didn't order anything, if I was still sitting down at the table and noone ever came, if she wouldn't come back one more time after she gave us the bill and we paid, if we needed a to-go box and they were out, if we needed a to-go box and she didn't come to ask us, if she takes our plates before we are done with them, if something is raw, if the food is messed up with another table, if they misheard our order (like when I ordered Shrimp Alfredo and got Chicken Alfredo because they misheard me), if I was running short on money, if we couldn't use a coupon for some reason, if we couldn't use an expired coupon. Done.

  5. I always tip waiters,my beautiful friend.

  6. when she's rude and doesn't bring you all of the food you paid for, even after polite requests

  7. Well, about 15 years ago, I went to a Mexican food place and when the waitress brought my salsa dip, she had her thumb sticking in it.  As she sat it down, she took her thumb out of the salsa dish  and licked it off.. and then laughed... She laughed about it real big... while she was laughing so much she,  passed a large amount of gas(if you know what I mean) and it was very loud... I wasn't really too hungry for Mexican food after all of that.. I got up and left..no tip.. true story!!!!

  8. If the service was really atrocious I would not only not leave a tip but tell the manager or Maitre'De

  9. If I got hot coffee dropped in my lap. %{(

  10. rudeness for one, but mostly if i notice that my waitress has forgotten me in order to serve someone with a larger bill.

  11. if the waitress barely ever came, or was rude. Like once I had a waitress and she didn't even do anything, all the other workers who weren't even our waitress... and she was really rude when she did come along, so we didn't give her a tip.

  12. I would only refuse to tip a waitress if she was truly rude or negligent in her job.  Therefore, if the problem was something out of her control, such as the food being late, I wouldn't withhold or reduce my tip... but if she were sitting around talking and neglecting her job, then yes, I would have no problem withholding or reducing her tip.  Also, I would consider outside factors, such as how busy the restaurant was or how many other people she was waiting on and how courteous she was.  So... I really have never come across a waitress that I have totally refused to leave a tip for... but I have left a smaller tip for some because of the aformentioned problems.

  13. they were rude the food was really late and the service want good or if the restraunt charges service charge
