Salsa is a pasrt of much of the Spanish and Latin American culture. It is an important dance culture in these countries. Mexico, Spain and Colombia are the three best places to learn or enjoy watching Salsa dances in.

spain has nothing to do with it.They're like the british version of latins because of they're accent+way of living.

Puerto rico,Dominican Republic and other countries in south america are good in it but Puerto Rico is closest to it.

Salsa is danced in every continent in the world.  While stationed in Japan, I went to several Salsa dancing clubs where they played salsa music.  I asked my Japanese friend if she understood what they said in the music and she said that she didn't have to understand it, she could feel the beat in her heart and it showed though her hips.  She was a great Salsera.
