  1. well I can tell where it is not and that is Australia. Kids are generally not for adoption here. Mostly they are put into Foster care

  2. I would say China. What is done to girls there is horrible.

Boys are much more wanted there and since they can have only two children per family, the girls are discarded much faster, especially from farm families. I hope one day to adopt from china, so good luck.

  3. China has a one child per family policy, so they have a bunch of extra kids. My friend's family just went to China with a large, organized (almost like a tour) group, but everyone was adopting a child or two. I'm sure that our governments work together to organize these groups.

  4. China has LOTS OF GIRLS that need homes, as boys are more valuable culturally, and girls are quite discarded.

  5. My husband and I had the same goal and have looked into this extensively.  Our conclusion is that unless we were willing to adopt either an older child or a child with moderate to severe special needs, we would not really be doing the world a favor by adopting.  In all countries, there are many more families waiting to adopt young, "healthy" children than there are children who are eligible for international adoption.  There are definitely children in need of adoption, but know that it will be a long process (and a very long wait) no matter which country you go with.  The wait time for China adoption is currently up to about five years due to the large number of families on the waiting list.  Since this is a long term goal for you, you will have to research the current situation in different countries you wish you adopt from as the adoption world is always changing.  Check out this website www.creatingafamily.com which has a great chart showing the current requirements for adopting from different countries.   Good luck with your decision.  I wish you the best.

  6. CHINA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

dong dong dong   dong dong   dong dong   dong

  7. How about adopting needy American children? I really don't understand what motivates people to adopt foreign children when the need in the US is so great.

  8. Any child adopted is a child taken away from their mother.

Remember that when you flick through the catalogue.
