  1. The AME is the "Accord monétaire européen" (European Monetary Agreement), and Banque de France is the (Bank of France).

    So, the money you are talking about is most probably the Euro; but the bills were printed in France.  

    The Euro is accepted throughout most of the member countries of the European Union; but each nation prints its own bills.  So, if you are from Italy you are more likely to have Italian-printed Euros in your pocket.  Yet, if you took those same bills to the Netherlands; they would be accepted as the same (equal) tender to the Dutch-printed Euro bills or coins.

    Many coin collectors both in Europe and abroad have been collecting the different versions of bills and coins printed or coined by each country.  They are actually interesting to see since each country "features" its history and culture through the images they decide to use on their versions of the Euro (bills and coins).
