In what county in florida are teachers paid the most in the state?

I teach business in miami (high school) and am looking to move north any info would be greatly appreciated

  1. You can look this up throught DOE in Florida. Not all counties are equal as you found out. YOu are working in one of the most challenging counties in the state and being paid pretty well for it compared to most of them.

    West Palm might be a good place as well as Collier county. But you will have to give up your teaching step when you first teach there.

Looking at the 2006/2007 minimum pay for a teacher with a bachelor's degree, the highest (of course) are in your area (Broward, Collier, and Monroe).  The three highest north from you are Sarasota, Osceola, and Pinellas (minimum salary of $35,190-$36,000).  Look at the link below for lists and cool colored maps. One thing to consider besides pay is the cost of living and benefits. Rural areas have a much lower cost of living, but you might not find a home close by.  Columbia County is a beautiful place to teach with moderate income.  Hope this helps.
